Ships brought many people.
Others flew in planes. 
Some walked. 
Some drove. 
This makes the U.S. diverse. 
People bring their food and dances. 

Part 3: American Holidays


Independence Day is on July 4. It is the birthday of the U.S.
Towns have parades and picnics. 
Fireworks go off.

Memorial Day is in May. 
It honors U.S. soldiers. 

Labor Day is in September. 
Workers built the U.S. 
This day honors their hard work. 

Thanksgiving is in November. 
People give thanks for all they have. 
Many have a big meal. 
We eat turkey and pumpkin pie. 

Part 4: American Food


There are many foods to eat. 
Hamburgers are one. 
Corn dogs are another. 
Many people enjoy french fries. 
Apple pie is popular. 

Part 5: American Sports


Sports are big in the U.S.
Football is popular. 
Baseball is too. 
Many people like basketball.
Some like soccer.
Others like hockey or tennis.

People like to hang out with friends. 
Many go out to eat. 
Some see a movie.
They may hike or fish.
